How this flooring is installed
We supply the product. Installation is a job for a qualified flooring installer. These are the steps your installer will follow, and the checks worth asking about before the job starts.
Never glue directly to chipboard
Yellow tongue, red tongue and other chipboard style subfloors are made from reconstituted sawdust. Adhesive bonds to those tiny particles, and over time they pull free under stress. Always install a hard overlay, plywood or masonite, before laying vinyl plank flooring. Your installer needs to assess this before any product is ordered.

Assess and prepare the subfloor
Vinyl plank flooring is the most subfloor sensitive category we carry. Any lump, dip or contour underneath will eventually show through the plank. Screed, patch and sand until the slab or overlay is flat.
Check for chipboard or yellow tongue
If your subfloor is chipboard, yellow tongue or any reconstituted sheet, you cannot glue directly to it. The adhesive bonds to the sawdust particles rather than a solid grain, and those particles pull free under stress. Lay plywood or masonite over the chipboard, screw it down well, then glue to that.
Apply hard set adhesive
Glue down with a full hard set adhesive is best practice, full stop. Pressure sensitive adhesives keep the board in position but will not stop doming or dimensional movement as the plank heats and cools. Click together vinyl plank left the market for the same reason: the heat softens the joint. Hard set is the only reliable answer.
Lay the planks and roll
Work in manageable sections. Lay each plank firmly into the wet adhesive, stagger the joints for a natural look, and roll the floor with a flooring roller once a section is down. That gives full contact and eliminates air pockets.
Allow full cure before traffic
Keep the floor clear while the adhesive cures. Check the adhesive manufacturer's guidance for temperature and time, and hold the room at a stable temperature through that period. Vinyl plank flooring is temperature sensitive while the adhesive is setting.
Straight talk on this range
Heavy commercial protection at a mid range price
A 0.7 mm wear layer is heavy commercial grade, and finding it at this price is the whole appeal of Resiplank Essence. The slim 3 mm profile also helps in renovations where floor height against door frames and cabinetry is tight.
Where a commercial wear layer earns its keep
A 0.7mm wear layer is what you specify for a cafe, a clinic or a hallway that never stops. In a house it buys you margin: the same floor, asked to do less, lasting longer. If you have dogs, kids and a front door that gets used, this is the range to look at.
Big windows and Brisbane sun
Vinyl plank flooring is structurally fine in our climate, but every synthetic floor can change colour under prolonged, intense UV. That is as true of hybrid and laminate as it is of vinyl. Supplier warranties expect window coverings in direct sun rooms. The board is solid; it is the print layer that wants protecting, and good blinds or UV film are the practical answer.
Compare the wear layer, not the total thickness. The wear layer is the part your dog's claws actually meet.
Colour on a screen is a guess. Samples are 1 for $15, 2 for $20, 3 for $25, redeemable on your order.

Resiplank Essence questions, answered
What makes Resiplank Essence different from the ArtiFloor ranges?
The wear layer. Resiplank Essence carries a 0.7mm heavy commercial wear layer over a 3mm board, which is a commercial specification in a residential price bracket. The ArtiFloor ranges are lighter boards aimed squarely at homes.
Is Resiplank Essence waterproof?
Yes, 100% waterproof throughout the board, so kitchens, laundries and wet adjacent areas are all within scope.
Is a commercial wear layer overkill for a house?
It is margin rather than overkill. The same floor asked to do less work lasts longer. With dogs, kids and a busy front door, the extra wear layer is the part you will notice in five years.
How is it installed?
Glue down with a hard set adhesive over a flat, sound subfloor, the same as our other ranges. Never glue directly to chipboard or yellow tongue: lay a plywood or masonite overlay first.
Will it fade or warp in the Brisbane sun?
Warping is not an issue with modern planks of 1.5m or less, glued down. Colour change under constant intense sun affects every synthetic floor, and window coverings are the practical answer.
